We’ll start our tour heading southeast. Crossing the Tizi N-Tichka pass, you’ll be treated to stunning panoramic views, providing plenty of opportunities to capture fabulous and memorable photos.
Next, we’ll continue our journey to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Kasbah Ait Benhaddou, one of the most exotic and well-preserved Kasbahs in the entire Atlas region.
After lunch at the Kasbah, we will explore this historic castle to uncover its landscapes before proceeding to spend the night in the Todra Valley.
Day 3: Dades Valley – Todra Valley – Desert Camping
In the morning, we will head to our next destination to experience life in the Moroccan desert.
We will pass through numerous scattered villages, visiting a creative Berber family and observing their tool-making process. Note that women play a significant role in Amazigh families.
Next, we’ll journey through Erfoud. After a cup of tea at the hotel, you’ll prepare for your camel trek to the desert camp, enjoying the sunset and sleeping in tents.
Day 4: Merzouga Dunes – Erfoud – Midelt – Cedar Forest – Ifrane – Fes
We leave the desert after breakfast to explore the city of Rissani, the ancient metropolis of Tafilalet. Rissani remains a significant commercial center of the region, with a bustling souk on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays.
We’ll head to Erfoud to visit one of the fossilized marble workshops, after a leisurely walk through the Rissani souk.
Next, we’ll stop to enjoy a panoramic view of the Ziz Valley as we travel along the Ziz River. We’ll have free time for lunch in Midelt. Then, we will head to the Cedar Forest, home to the Barbary macaques. Feel free to feed them while exploring the forest.
We will then pass through Ifrane, famous for its alpine-style houses, snow, and low temperatures. It’s no surprise that it is known as the “Switzerland of Morocco.” Your accommodation in Fes is the final destination of the 4-day tour from Marrakech to Fes where we will drop you off.
