Day 1: Welcome to Tangier – Airport Transfer – Chefchaouen
Our best 11-day tour from Tangier begins with a pickup from Tangier airport or port, known as the “bride of the north.” The city is located in the northwest, where the Mediterranean Sea meets the Atlantic Ocean opposite Cape Spartel.
Day 2: Tangier – Rif Mountains – Tetouan – Chefchaouen
On the second day of your 11-day tour from Tangier, you’ll be picked up from your accommodation to explore the beautiful city. We’ll visit Hercules Cave and Cape Spartel. Free time for lunch.
Afterward, we head inland towards Chefchaouen, passing through Tetouan and the Rif Mountains. We’ll make stops along the way for panoramic views. Finally, we’ll arrive in Chefchaouen for an overnight stay in a hotel.
Day 3: Chefchaouen
Today, you’ll have the opportunity to enjoy the colors, flavors, and charm of this city. Savor tea at one of the many cafés overlooking the Medina, stroll through its sloping streets, and appreciate its uniqueness. The Moroccan government has requested its inclusion in the UNESCO World Heritage Sites catalog. Overnight stay in Chefchaouen.
Day 4: Chefchaouen – Roman Ruins of Volubilis – Meknes – Fes
After breakfast, explore the picturesque alleys of Chefchaouen, the blue city. Next, we’ll explore the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis, which are excellently preserved and listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The area boasts numerous and impressive mosaics, ancient pillars, and arches. After navigating through the ruins, we’ll drive 30 km to visit Meknes, recognized as the Ismaili metropolis and one of Morocco’s imperial cities. The tour includes Bab Al-Mansour, Sahrij Souani Basin, royal stables, granary, and Moulay Ismail Mausoleum. Then, we travel to Fes for an overnight stay in a Riad.
Day 5: Guided Tour of Fes
Your 11-day tour from Tangier continues with a pickup from your accommodation in Fes. Spend the day visiting Fes’ main attractions with an expert local guide. Known as the spiritual and cultural epicenter of Morocco, Fes is also an imperial city.
We’ll start with a visit to the Royal Palace gate, followed by the Medina, a magnificently preserved medieval city declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The tour will take you through the Blue Gate or Bab Boujloud, the entrance to the old Medina.
Inside, you’ll see the Najjarine Fountain, Tanneries, and Bouanania Medrasa. The tour also includes the world’s oldest university at Quaraouin, next to the mosque. Outside the Medina, our next stop is the Jewish quarter, often called “the Mellah.”
After lunch, we’ll take a scenic walk to a medieval fortress overlooking Fes and the Medina. We’ll return to your Riad afterward.
Day 6: Fes – Midelt – Merzouga
After breakfast, we depart towards Midelt, crossing the Middle Atlas Mountains and cedar forests. We’ll visit Ifrane, a charming ski resort, and Azrou, a key craft center specializing in cedar woodwork. After Zad Pass (2178m/7146ft), we arrive in Midelt for lunch.
We’ll descend through the Ziz Valley, dotted with palm trees, towards Erfoud and Errachiddía in the afternoon. Continue towards the Erg Chebbi dunes. In the afternoon, camels will take us into the desert as the sun sets.
We’ll reach the tent camp located in the midst of high dunes, where we’ll spend the night. Dinner and overnight in a tent under the desert stars.
Day 7: Nomad Visit – Camel Trekking – Desert Camp Overnight
After a delightful breakfast, we’ll head to Khamlia village, where you’ll be enchanted by authentic gnawa rhythms. Next, we’ll leave the conventional route to explore the dunes on an off-road path and stop for tea with nomads in traditional Berber tents.
This 11-day experience from Tangier offers a glimpse into a distinct lifestyle, and you’ll have the chance to enjoy a Berber pizza for lunch. In the late afternoon, you’ll prepare for an extraordinary camel trek to the heart of the dunes to witness a spectacular sunset after resting in the hotel.
Upon arrival at the camp, you’ll be greeted with mint tea before retreating to your comfortable lodgings, which include toilet and shower facilities, while the Sahara illuminates its impressive night colors. The musical performance around the campfire enhances the celestial charm of the Sahara night as you dine.
Day 8: Merzouga – Rissani – Valley of Roses – Ouarzazate
The route leads to the palm grove of Rissani and Jorf, located on the right bank of Oued Ziz, and subsequently to the Ksar of Touroug, surrounded by impressive oases. We’ll visit Tinejdad before arriving in Tinerhir. After lunch, we’ll head to the Todra Gorges.
Next, we’ll explore the beautiful Boumalne Dades Valley, passing through Kelaat M’gouna and the Valley of Roses, which is at its peak bloom in May. Upon reaching Ouarzazate, there’s an opportunity to visit Taourirt Kasbah, the residence of the Pasha of Marrakech.
Day 9: Ouarzazate – Kasbah Amridil – High Atlas – Marrakech
The Tizi-n-Tichka Pass (2260m), known as the “grazing neck,” will take us to Marrakech. An alternative route includes the famous Aït Benhaddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
We’ll then head towards the Moroccan capital, “The Pasha Glaoui,” to visit his palace in the Telouet Kasbah. From there, we take the route through the winding Tichka Pass, offering impressive views filled with vibrant tones of the Haouz plain, arriving in Marrakech. Dinner and overnight in a Riad or hotel.
Day 10: Marrakech – Marrakech (Cultural Visit)
Today, embark on a full-day guided tour to uncover the mysteries of the medina of Marrakech. A professional local guide will provide an overview of the most impressive sites in the red city.
You’ll have the opportunity to visit Bab Er Robb, Saadian Tombs, El Badi Palace, Ali Ben Youssef Madrasa, Koutoubia Mosque, and the famous Jamaa El Fna square.
The medina is rich with points of interest, such as the Majorelle Gardens. Overnight in a Riad near Jamaa el Fna square.
Day 11: Transfer to Marrakech Airport
Breakfast and a free day to continue exploring the city. Transfer to the airport and conclusion of our 11-day tour from Tangier based on your flight departure time.
