Depending on your arrival time, a driver/guide from will pick you up at Marrakech Menara Airport. You will then be transferred to the Riad/Hotel in the Medina of Marrakech, where you will spend the first night.
Today you will embark on a guided day trip to discover the mysteries of the medina of Marrakech. A professional local guide will provide you with an overview of the most impressive places in the red city.
You will have the opportunity to visit Bab Er Robb, the Saadian monuments, the El Badi Palace, the Ali Ben Youssef madrasa, the Koutoubia mosque, and of course, the famous Jemaa El Fna square.
In the medina, there are many places of interest, such as the Majorelle Gardens. We will spend the night in a Riad located near the Jemaa El Fna square.
The 10-day tour in Morocco begins with a morning pick-up from the airport or your accommodation in Marrakech. We will drive through the enchanting High Atlas mountains and the Tizi-N-Tichka pass. We will stop to admire the magnificent landscapes from a panoramic perspective. Next, we will visit the Kasbah of Telouat.
Then we will head to the famous Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou. UNESCO has designated this fortified village as a World Heritage site. Additionally, the Kasbah has appeared in numerous films, such as Alexander, The Mummy, and Gladiator.
It also appears in TV shows like Game of Thrones. Afterward, we will head to Ouarzazate, known as “The Gateway to the Desert.” Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
After lunch, we will embark on an exploration of the city of Ouarzazate. First, we will visit the Atlas Studios, where several famous films have been shot. We will also visit the Kasbah of Taourirt, an ancient and magnificent fortified mud-brick fortress.
We will continue to Skoura, where we will visit the Kasbah of Amridil, surrounded by palm plantations to the east. Then we will head to Kalaa Magouna, famous for its Valley of Roses.
Every year in May, a Rose Festival is celebrated, during which the local community sells its rose-related products, such as perfumes, rose water, oil, and cosmetics.
Next, we will head to the Dades Valley passing through Boumalne Dades. Stops at the “monkey fingers” rock formation and the top of a mountain from which you can see the Dades Valley are inevitable. Dinner and overnight at a hotel in Boumalne Dades.
After breakfast, we will head to the Todra Gorges, where the Todra River has carved a magnificent canyon through the mountains, resulting in a high red cliff canyon.
Feel free to explore the gorges and enjoy the impressive majesty of the surroundings. We will cross the palm plantations of Touroug and Tinjdad. You can have lunch along the way.
In the afternoon we will arrive at the Saharan desert of Merzouga. Here you will switch to dromedaries and cross the arid desert. We will take a break to let you enjoy the enchanting sunset from the top of a high dune. Next, you will head to the luxury desert lodge.
Where you can dance around the campfire while listening to Berber percussion music, all while admiring the vast open sky filled with stars. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
After a delicious breakfast, we will head to the village of Khamlia, where you will be fascinated by the authentic gnawa rhythms. Next, we will deviate from the usual route to explore the dunes by an unpaved road and make a stop to have tea with the nomads in traditional Berber tents.
This immersive experience offers a glimpse into a different lifestyle, and you will have the opportunity to have a Berber pizza for lunch. In the late afternoon, you will prepare for an extraordinary camel ride to the heart of the dunes to witness the spectacular sunset before resting in the hotel.
Upon arrival at the camp, you will be welcomed with mint tea before heading to your comfortable tent, complete with bathroom and shower, while the Sahara illuminates its impressive night colors. A musical performance by the group around the fire enriches the charm of the night in the desert while you dine.
We leave the desert after breakfast to explore the city of Rissani, the ancient metropolis of Tafilalet. Rissani remains an important commercial center of the region, with an expanding souk bustling on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays. We will head to Erfoud, where we will visit one of the fossilized marble workshops, after a leisurely walk in the Rissani souk.
Next, we will stop to enjoy a panoramic view of the Ziz Valley while driving along the Ziz River. Free time for lunch in Midelt. Next, we will head to the Cedars Forest, home to Barbary macaques. Do not hesitate to feed them while exploring the forest.
Later, we will cross Ifrane, famous for its alpine-style houses, snow, and low temperatures. It’s not surprising that it is known as the “Switzerland of Morocco.” Your accommodation in Fez is the final destination where we will deliver you.
After breakfast, we will pick you up at your accommodation in Fez to embark on a guided tour of the city. In addition to being the cultural and religious epicenter of Morocco, the city is recognized as one of the imperial cities.
We will start the day by visiting the gate of the Royal Palace. Next, the medieval Medina, classified as a UNESCO World Heritage site, is very well preserved. The entrance to the old Medina is known as the Blue Gate or Bab Boujloud.
A local guide will accompany you to the entrance of the Medina. We will visit the Bouanania Madrasa, the Nejjarine Fountain, the Tanneries, and the Quaraouin Mosque and University, the oldest in the world.
Next, we will leave the Medina to explore the Jewish quarter, known as “the Mellah.” Later, we will head to an ancient citadel, where we can enjoy a panoramic view of the Medina and the city of Fez. Next, we will transfer you to your riad.
We will depart after breakfast to explore Meknes, the imperial city and capital of the Ismaili people. We will explore the following places: the royal stables, the granary, the Sahrij Souani pond, and Bab Al-Mansour.
At lunchtime. Next, we will travel 30 kilometers from Meknes to explore the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis. Their state of preservation is excellent, having been declared a UNESCO World Heritage site.
